Chardham Uttrakhand Tour to complete spiritual enlightenment is mix of strain and comfort. The Yatra is carried out with challenging treks, rugged terrain and unpredictable weather. However, the right planning and travel tips can make this trip a cakewalk. Earlier when the Char Dham Yatra was conducted, people used to rarely be able to make it and even if they did make it usually they assumed they would not go back. However, with the changing times and the introduction of technology and new modes of transportation, Char Dham Yatra has now become more comfortable and more doable .

As these locations have high elevation of the temples of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, it is important to be well prepared. Kindly refer our travel tips for Char Dham Yatra to make it more comfortable for the pilgrims:

Summer Chardham

Summer Chardham Schedule of 2024 gates/kapat open for six months. The Opening schedule is from April and May until October. The dates, however, are declared by the Char Dham committee people along with Kedarnath Badrinath Mandir Samiti, right before the Akshaya Tritiya. Also known as Akha Teej, Akshaya Tritiya is an Auspicious for the Hindu community.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Dehradun/Haridwar/Rishikesh - Barkot (180 kms/5-6 hr)

Pickup from the Haridwar/Rishikesh/Dehradun railway station and Drive to Barkot via visit Kempty Fall,outer Mussoorie and after that  drive straight to Barkot on arrival check in to the hotel, after refreshment having dinner and overnight stay in Barkot.

Day 02: Barkot-Jankichatti –(50 km/01 hr) –Yamunotri (06 km Trek )-Back to Barkot same route

Morning after breakfast drive to Jankichatti by road and from Janki chatty start 6 km of trek for Yamunotri temple ( can use also potter, poni, ghori for the trek at own cost )after visit Yamunotri temple back to Jankichatti by trek and after that back to hotel by drive , taking dinner , overnight stay in Barkot.

Day 03: Barkot - Uttarkashi (100kms/4hr)

Morning after breakfast checkout from the hotel and Drive to Uttarkashi. Visit Vishwanath Temple & Others. Later Check in Hotel. Rest day at leisure. Night stay in Uttarkashi.

Uttarkashi: Situated at the bank of river Bhagirathi. The temple of Lord Vishwanath is located here where a massive iron trident is erected.

Day 04: Uttarkashi – Harsil -Gangotri (100kms/3-4 each side)-Back to Uttarkashi.

Morning after breakfast we proceed to Gangotri (3048 mts), enroute we enjoy picturesque Harsil village, Bhagirathi River and the most magnificent view of the Himalayas. After Gangotri Darshan we return to Uttarkashi. Oernight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 05: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (218 kms/7-8hr)

Morning after Breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to straight to Guptkashi. on arrival  Check in Hotel, night halt.

Day 06: Guptkashi –Sonprayag (30kms by road)-Gorikund- Kedarnath (14 km by Treek one side)

Morning after breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to sonprayag from sonpryag drive to Gauri Kund by local transport at own cost, on arrival Gaurikund, Trek start from Gaurikund to Kedarnath (14 Km) (can also use poni, ghori, doli for trek by own cost). Reaching in Kedarnath premises, check in to the hotel and overnight stay in Hotel. (In Kedarnath Hotel food will not include in the Package)

OR

Kedarnath By Helicopter 

Morning after breakfast drive to Helipad on arrival, taking boarding passes and later fly for Kedarnath Helipad on arrival Kedarnath helipad go to temple by walk in after reaching check in to the hotel and overnight stay in Kedarnath.

Day 07: Kedarnath-Guptkashi (By Same route)

Early morning visit to Kedarnath Temple and check out from the hotel and back to sonprayag via gorikund by trek and From sonprayag drive to Guptkashi by cab, back to hotel and overnight stay in Guptlkashi.

Day 08: Guptkashi – Joshimath-Pandukeswar/Govindghat –Badrinath (218 kms/7-8hr)

Morning Breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Badrinath via Joshimath and visit Narsingh Dev Temple after that back to Badrianth on arrival check in to the hotel after refreshment visit Badrivishal and dinner overnight stay in Badrianth.

Day 09: Badrinath – Rudraprayag (220 km/08 hr)

Early morning, pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). Later after breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive back to Rudraprayag Checkinn Dinner Overnight stay

Day 10: Rudraprayag-Rishikesh– Haridwar/Rishikesh/Dehradun (130km/3-4 hr)

Morning Breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Haridwar enroute visit Rishikesh Sight Seeing covering with Ram Jhula , Lakshman Jhula, Parmarth Niketan and back to haridwar attain Ganga Aarti and drop in Haridwar/Rishikesh Railway Station.

Supplement Cost of To/Fro Delhi + Haridwar Stay will depend on Group members sharing the vehicle and room

Check List for the chardham Yatra 2023

ü  Please carry a photo Id and proof of the address along with you.

ü  Do carry sufficient light woolens from May to Aug and heavy woolens from Sept to Nov.

ü  Carry good walking shoes: - canvas or sport shoes

ü  If you wish you can carry dry eatables with you like biscuits, snacks and chocolates etc.

ü  Always hire registered pony, kandi and porter.

ü  Move slowly and steadily and give the driver enough time for rest.

ü  Please carry umbrella/ Rain coat and one torch.

ü  Carry sufficient money to pay for your personal expenses.

ü  It is advisable to carry your own personal medical kit.

ü  Avoid carrying heavy jewelry during the Yatra.

ü  Don’t use soap while bathing/ washing clothes in the river.

ü  Don’t throw wrappers/poly bags on the road or in the forest during the journey.

ü  Don’t carry poly bags as it is banned in Uttarakhand.

Read Carefully Before Booking

ü  A/c will not work in car on Hilly areas.(In Chardham Sector)

ü  In case of any uncertain/unwanted circumstances like bad weather or land slide etc. Company will reschedule the itinerary accordingly. But, in that case guest has to pay for extra expenses like food, accommodation, car rental for extra days or anything which is already booked/ arranged by the company.

ü  Company is not responsible If there will be any kind of fault such as electricity or water inside the Hotel Premises.(Hotel Manager will be resolved the problem)

ü  After Confirming Helicopter tickets, company is not responsible for any kind of discrepancy happened from the end of the Aviation Company. Like cancellation due to bad weather etc.

ü  Extra expenses other than the planed itinerary will be bear by the client at their own. Such as medical related problem, extra meal in between journey or whatever is not mentioned in the itinerary, Hotels other than booked one.

ü  Sightseeing which are out of the way of Chardham Yatra will cost extra.

ü  All extras (F&B and any other services) availed by the customer will be on direct payment basis.

ü  In case of odd number groups, the extra person shall be accommodated in the same room with an extra bed / mattress.

ü  The above rates are applicable to the Indian Nationals only.

ü  In Rishikesh, Green card permit will be taken from Uttrakhand Govt. the time may vary depending upon crowd there hill taking the permit.

ü  Any Meals, services not utilized, partly utilized are non-refundable.
