Tour Itinerary

Day 01 :- Delhi – Arrival – Local Visit

 

Upon arrival in Delhi , Buddhist Tour in India our representative will pick up & transfer you to check-in to hotel. Followed by dinner and stay overnight in Delhi.

 

Day 02 :-Delhi – Local Visit – Old Delhi and New Delhi

 

After Breakfast leave the hotel for the famous city tour which covers various heritage spots and architectural master pieces in Delhi including Qutub Minar: a UNESCO world heritage site , Mahatma Gandhi Memorial. Also you will be taken to have a look at the India Gate ( earlier known as All India War Memorial), government buildings like Parliament House in the surrounding area including the majestic Rashtrapati Bhawan or the President’s house by drive pass a followed by the tour of Red Fort ( situated in Old Delhi) and Chandni Chowk market (heaven for shopping goers).

 

Back to the hotel for an overnight stay at Delhi Hotel.

 

Day 03 :- Delhi–Jaipur-Pink City Local Tour to Neemrana Fort (250 KM-5 Hrs)

 

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur. En-route Stopover Neemrana Fort, & continue your drive to Jaipur. Check-in to hotel. Evening is kept to enjoy the ambiance of  Pink City.

 

Optional tour – visit Chauki Dhani in Jaipur (Ticket on direct payment by guest) or also have choice to enjoy Light & Sound show in Amber Fort .

 

Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel in Jaipur.

 

Day 04 :- Jaipur–Elephant Ride in Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri Local Sightseeing of Buland Darwaza - Agra(250 KM -5 Hrs)

 

After Breakfast checkout and keep luggage in car or in clock room, visit for Jaipur City Tour. Start the tour with the Elephant Ride at Amber Fort followed by Hawa Mahal ( Palace of Winds) and Jantar Mantar (Royal observatory) of Jaipur

 

After a comfortable lunch, drive to Agra (05 hrs). En-route visit old deserted town of Mughal Dynasty in Fatehpur Sikri . Visit local sightseeing of Fatehpur Sikri like Buland Darwaza , Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience) & Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience) .

 

Reach Agra by night Check in at the Hotel with overnight stay at Agra

 

Day 05 :- Agra - (250km-05Hrs)- Local sightseeing-Taj Mahal-Agra Fort

 

Agra is known for Mughal architecture – After breakfast, visit the Wonder of World Taj Mahal which Mughal Ruler Shah Jahan dedicated to his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal.

 

Later visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Agra Fort famous for Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience) and Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience) and houses many royal palaces of Mughal Era.

 

Back to the hotel by evening. Overnight stay at hotel in Agra.

 

Day 06 :- Agra –Sankisa (180 KM-03 Hrs)-Local sightseeing-Buddha Temple - Elephant Pillar-Sri Lankan Buddhist School

 

*Buddhist component of tour commence

 

After breakfast, drive to Sankisa , ( Place where Buddha returned from heaven after teaching Abhidhamma ). Check-in to hotel.

 

Followed by Lunch we will have local sightseeing of Sankasya – At the spot of descent stands a temple with a statue of the Buddha. The place is also known for a temple and an excavated Ashokan Elephant Pillar which is built in memory of Maya Devi . She saw a dream of elephat before the birth of Lord Buddha. We  also find  Sri Lankan Buddhist School and Monastery .

 

Dinner and overnight stay in Sankisa.

 

Day 07 :- Sankisa –Lucknow (300 Km-06 Hrs) –Shravasti (200km-04 Hrs) – Visit Saheth & Maheth

 

After breakfast, check out & drive to Shravasti . En-route stop overfor lunch in Lucknow . OptionalHhalf day sightseeing in Lucknow. Continue drive to Shravasti. Check-in to Hotel.

 

In evening have some leisure timed. Dinner & overnight stay at night at hotel.

 

Day 08 :- Shravasti - Lumbini (225 KM, 5 Hrs)

 

After breakfast  checkout & visit Saheth Jetvanaram, Maheth and Angulimal Caves .

 

Latter drive to Lumbini

 

Note : Kindly obtain multiple entry visa for India & single entry visa for Nepal . On arrival, check-in to hotel stay overnight stay in Lumbini.

 

Day 09 :- Lumbini –Kapilvastu -Childhood Home of Buddha (70 KM -01 Hrs)–Lumbini

 

After breakfast, drive to Childhood home of Gautama Buddha Kapilvastu (70 km from lumbini). Enjoy the Local Sightseeing of Kapilvastu like Kapilvastu Kingdom Complex , Lumbini Garden Complex and Tilaurakot Museum .

 

By evening return back to Lumbini & overnight stay in Lumbini.

 

Day 10 :- Lumbini - Birthplace of Lord Buddha –Kushinagar (180 KM, 4 hrs)

 

After breakfast check out and  visit Holy Birth place of Siddharth Gautama which also has Buddhist Monasteries and Nunnery.

 

Thereafter drive to Kushinagar . Have dinner and overnight stay  at hotel in Kushinagar.

 

Day 11 :- Kushinagar –Vaishali -Last sermon place of Buddha (250 KM, 5 Hrs)- Rajgir (100 KM-02 Hrs)

 

After breakfast, visit Mahaparinirvana Temple ( Where Lord Buddha Took His Last Breathe), Rambhar Stupa (Cremation Site of Lord Buddha) and Japan Temple . Later, drive to Vaishali .

 

Later visit Ashokan Pillar - Emperor Ashoka built Lion Pillar at Kolhua.It is made of a highly polished single piece of red sandstone, surmounted by a bell shaped capital and Buddha Stupa-I: Abhiskek Pushkarni (Coronation tank).

 

And cover Last Sermon place of Buddha in Vaishali . Later drive to Rajgir.

 

Dinner and overnight stay in Rajgir.

 

Day 12 :- Rajgir-Local Tour to Nalanda - Nalanda University (35 KM, 30 Min)- Bodhgaya (110 KM,2 Hrs)

 

After breakfast, Rajgir, the capital of the Magadha Empire and is a pilgrimage site of Buddhists. The Japanese Buddhists have built the massive Vishwashanti Stupa (World Peace Stupa) on the Ratnagiri Hill which can be accessed by a chairlift.

 

The stupa comprise of statues of Buddha at the four stages of his life – birth, enlightenment, first sermon and Mahaparinirvana . Griddhakuta (Vulture’s Peak) located on Ratnagiri Hill is another site where Buddha stopped by to preach.

 

Later visit Nalanda (Ancient university). Spread over 14 hectares, the Nalanda University Archaeological Complex is ancient university. After the walk around the ruins, visit the Xuan Zang Memorial Hall , a Chinese pagoda built by Chinese Buddhists.

 

Later drive to Bodhgaya Check inn Dinner and stay overnight at hotel in Bodhgaya.

 

Day 13 :- Bodhgaya-Local Tour to Dungeshwari Caves(12 KM, 30 Min)-Bodhgaya

 

Breakfast & visit Lord Buddha Temple . Visit other sightseeing places like Bodhi Tree , Sujata Village. Come back for lunch.

 

There after  drive to Gaya. En-route stopover of visit Dungeshwari Cave Temples also known as the Mahakala Caves. Lord Buddha underwent years of penance here before he descended to Bodhgaya.

 

Return back to Bodhgaya. Dinner and stay overnight at hotel in Bodhgaya.

 

Day 14 :– Bodhgaya – Varanasi (300 KM, 6 Hrs)-Evening Ganga Aarti

 

Breakfast CHECKOUT &  transfer to Varanasi (Drive pass by local villages ) . Check-in to hotel and have lunch in hotel.

 

In evening, get ready to experience one of the most memorable site of lifetime , as you will be taken for world famous Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat . View the cultural  cultural diversity and social and religious activities being carried out at the Ganga Ghats in Varanasi . Overnight halt at Varanasi.

 

Day 15 :-Varanasi – Morning Boat ride –Sarnath (15 KM, 30 Min)

 

Early morning feel spirituality of Subah-e-Banaras in Varanasi in which you will enjoy Boat Ride in the Ganges while Sunrise . Experience the different Ghats of Varanasi . Each Ghat has its own history and value. Come back to hotel for breakfast.

 

Breakfast , proceed for an excursion to Sarnath . Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples at deer park(Rishipattana) .Other Local Sightseeing of Sarnath is the Buddha Temples , Dhamekha Stupa , Chaukhandi Stupa , Mulagandh Kuti Vihara and the Archaeological Museum.

 

In the Evening Ritual Ceremony in Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple in Sarnath .

 

OR, Return to hotel in Varanasi. Have dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 16 :- Varanasi –New Delhi (By flight)

 

After breakfast check out & drop to Varanasi Airport drop to connect flight for Delhi airport. On arrival in Delhi, drop to airport/railway station with pleasant memory of this Buddhist Memory tour of India with Mughal & Hindu culture and architecture flavour of India
