Valley of Flowers National Park is an Indian national park, located in West Himalaya, in the state of Uttarakhand and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox, and blue sheep. Birds found in the park include Himalayan monal pheasant and other high altitude birds. At 3352 to 3658 meters above sea level, the gentle landscape of the Valley of Flowers National Park complements the rugged mountain wilderness of Nanda Devi National Park to the east. Together, they encompass a unique transition zone between the mountain ranges of the Zanskar and Great Himalaya. The park stretches over an expanse of 87.50 km2 and it is about 8 km long and 2 km wide. Both parks are encompassed in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve (223,674 ha) which is further surrounded by a buffer zone (5,148.57 km2). How to Reach
By Train Rishikesh is the nearest railway station. 273 km from Govind Ghat. You can avail a taxi or bus service to reach Govind Ghat.
By Air The nearest airport is Jolly Grant, located 292 km from Dehradun.
By Bus Govind Ghat is well connected by buses to Delhi and other major destinations of Uttarakhand like Rishikesh, Pauri, Chamoli, Ukhimath Srinagar, etc.Govind Ghat is situated on NH 58.

Short Itinerary
Day 1:- 8/9 hours drive from Haridwar to Joshimath. For Without Transport :- Taxi and Buses easily available from haridwar and Rishikesh between 4 Am to 5 Am
Day 2:- Drive from Joshimath (6,150 ft) to Govind Ghat (6,300 ft). Trek to Ghangria (9,843 ft); 5-6 hours, 13 km + 20 km drive
Day 3:- Ghangria (9,600 ft) to Valley of Flowers (11,500 ft) and back; 6 hours, 4 km each way
Day 4:- Ghangria (9,600) to Hemkund Sahib (14,107 ft) and back; 8-9 hours, 5.5 km each way
Day 5:- Trek from Ghangria (9,600 ft) to Govind Ghat (6,300 ft). Drive to Joshimath (6,150 ft); 5 hours, 12 km trek + 20 km drive
Day 6:- Depart from Joshimath. You will reach Haridwar between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm.
Itineary
Day 1 — Haridwar/Rishikesh - GovindGhat/Joshimath (6,151 ft) (Drive/287 km) (8 - 9 Hours)
Drive to Joshimath via Devprayag. On the way visit Devprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet. The confluence makes it The Holy Ganges.
Arrival at Joshimath by evening, Joshimath: The religious centre, established by Adi Shankaracharya, which he called Jyotirmath, later came to be known as Joshimath.
Near by temples one can visit are Nav Durga and Narsingh
Day 2 — Joshimath - Govindghat/Ghangaria (10,000 ft) (26 km Drive/9 Km Trek) (3 to 4 hours)
After an early breakfast drive to Govindghat. Which is the starting point of the trek
From Govindghat there is a gradual ascent along a well maintained pilgrim trail to Ghangaria.
Upon arrival at Ghangaria check into Camp. Explore The surroundings in the evening.
Day 3 — Ghangaria (8,050 ft) – Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara & Lake (11,320 ft ) (10 Km Trek 6 to 7 hours)
Rise early to take a 7 kms trek to Hemkund Sahib. Hemkund Sahib is the most venerated Sikh Shrines, and considered to be the World’s Highest Gurudwara at an altitude of 4,329 m.
6 km Hemkund Trek (Each Way), heads to Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara & Lake
Start trekking back to Ghangria, Campsite and an overnight stay. ad Ghangria.
Day 4 — Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers trek and back to Ghangaria (11,320 to 12,820 Ft.) ( 5 Km Trek 4-5 hours)

Back to Ghangria for overnight stay.
Day 5 — Trek from Ghangria (9,600 ft) to Govind Ghat (6,300 ft). Drive to Joshimath (6,150 ft) (5 hours, 12 km trek + 20 km drive)

Day 6 — Depart from GovindGhat/Joshimath to Haridwar
Depart from Govind Ghat/Joshimath. You will reach Haridwar between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm.

- Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accomodation and seprate accomodation for girls/ladies will be povided
- Meals
- All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
- Permits/ Forest fees
- UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
- Experienced Trek Leader & Team
- Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assiston trek.
- Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
Exclusions
- 5% GST will be applicable
- Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
- Mule and Porter charges
- Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
- Personal Expense
- Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
