Vaitheeswaran temple is a Hindu temple devoted to Lord Shiva located in the Southern part of India. Shiva is worshipped here as Lord Vaitheeswaran or the "God of healing" and it is believed that prayers to Vaitheeswaran help in curing all the diseases. Vaitheeswaran is a Tamil Dravidian word from vaidya (Doctor) and Ishvara (God/Master). The presiding deity is Sri vaidyan Atha. He is the God of Healing. It is one of the nine Navagraha temple (nine planets) temples and is associated with the planet Mars (Angaraka).

The holy waters of the Siddhartham tank inside the temple complex is considered as a nectar, and a holy dip is believed to cure all diseases of mankind.
