Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Chennai Airport / Railway station

 

Pick up from Chennai airport& transfer to the Hotel. On arrive check-in the hotel. After Refreshment, visit places like

 

  •    MGR Film City
  •    Marina Beach

 

MGR Film City is film studio complex.Where we can see the many movie sets.Also on everyday you have a Movie Making show for 30 minutes. Marina beachis the second longest beach in the world on the Coromondal Bay of Bengal.

Day 02: Chennai City Tour

 

After breakfast, visit places like

 

  •   Valluvar Kottam
  •   Theme Park (MGM, Kiskintha, Queen’s Land, VGP universal/ Snow world)
  •   Victory war Memorial

 

ValluvarKottam is the memorial of Thiruvalluvar. The most important Tamil author the great Poet & Philosopher Thiruvalluvar, who wrote Tirukkural. Where he said how a person has to live the worldy life with his 1330 kural of 2 feet by Olaachuvadi. He is the Father of Tamil Language. Shaped like a Temple Chariot in fact this the replica of Temple Chariot Thiruvarur Car.

Day 03: Chennai –Kanchipuram (80 kms, 2 hrs)

 

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel & transfer to Kanchipuram. Reach & check-in the hotel. After refreshment visit places like

 

  •    Sri Kanchi Kamakshi Amman Temple
  •    ShriEkambareswarar Temple (God of Earth)
  •    Kailasjanathar Temple

Kamakshi Amman Temple – There are 51 Shakti Peeth linking to the 51 alphabets in Sanskrit.Ekambareswarar Temple is one of the Five Element Nature Temple. It is the largest temple in india.  It represents God of earth. YAZHI is a mysterious creature seen in many south indian temples, often sculpted on to the Pillars.Kailasanathar Temple is 1500 years old temple. It has 58 small shrines which are dedicated to various forms of Shiva.

Day 04: Kanchipuram – Thiruvannamalai (170 kms, 4hrs)

 

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel & transfer to Thiruvannamalai. Enroute visit places like

 

  •    Vedanthangal Bird Sancturay
  •    Gingee Fort

Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary – Here you can find more than 40000 birds from various parts of the world visit the sanctuary during the migratory season every year.

Day 05: Thiruvannamalai–Trichy (200 kms, 4 hrs)

 

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel & visit

 

  •    Annamalaiyar Temple – God of Fire
  •    UcchiPilayar Temple – Rockfort

Annamalair Temple – Is built in cholla’s period ie in 9thcentuary.This is also one of the Panchabhootastalam. It denotes God of Fire. On the full moon day most of the pilgrims will circumnavigated the temple base called GIRIVALAM. Which is 16km.

Day 06:  Trichy – Tanjore (60 kms, 1 and half hrs)

 

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel & visit

 

  •    Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple(One among the DivyaDesams dedicated to Lord Vishnu)
  •    Kallanai Dam – is an Ancient Dam, which is built across the Cauveri river
  •    Puliyancholai Waterfalls
  •    Jambukeshwar Temple (God of Water)

Ranganathasamy Temple is the world Biggest functional Hindu Temple. Here you can see god of Perumal in Sleeping style. It covers an area of about 6,31,000 square metres (6,790,000 sqft) with a perimeter of 4 km.Jambukeshwar Temple is one of the Five element Nature temple which represents God of water. It is built in chola period.

 Day 07: Tanjore – Rameshwaram (250 kms, 5hrs)

 

After breakfast, visit places like

 

  •    Tanjore Bragadeeshwarar Temple
  •    Gangai Konda Cholapuram

Tanjore Big Temple is one of the largest south indian temple built by Raja RajaCholan. The main temple is built of granite more than 1,30,000 tons of granites, (2000 years ago). In the main temple entrance you can find the big statue of Nandi  &  is carved out of a single stone.The main Vimanam, which is at about 200 feet is often called DakshinMeru.

Day 08: Rameshwaram– Madurai (200 kms, 4 hrs)

 

Morning visit

 

  •    Ramanathasamy Temple
  •    Agni Theertham (22 wells)
  •    Dhanuskodi, Pamban Island
  •    APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial

Ramanathasamy Temple – Here you can see 22 holy wells which is located inside the temple. The eastern sea shore opposite to the Ramanathaswamy temple is named as Agni theertham. This is one of the 64 sacred baths in Rameswaram. The Agni God diminishes his sin by took a bath is called as Agni theertham.A chakra (wheel) here is said to bear an imprint of Lord Rama’s feet.Rama Sethu – (100 Yojna Bridge to Lanka from India by hanuman). Hanuman Kundh – (where Hanuman tried to life shivalinga kept by Sita).Agni Thertham – Sita prayed to Agni god. Rama said to believe took bath in Rameswaran beach after killing Ravana who is beloved to be Grandson of Brahma so that he diminishes his sin in a war. Shiva Linga brought by hanuman from Kailasha and Sita made Shiva linga out of sand are present there. Spring water by Rama – Villoonditheertham. Dhanushkodi was destroyed in 1964 by Rameswaram cyclone. This island is very close to Srilanka, ie one can reach by swimming to lanka. From this point Hanuman built bridge to Lanka.APJ Abdul Kalam Memorialis born & raised in Rameshwaram.

Day 09: Madurai

 

Morning after Breakfast, visit

 

  •    Meenakshi Amman Temple
  •    Thousand Pillar Hall
  •    Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal
  •    Thiruparangundram Murugan Temple
  •    Bull visit (Jallikattu)

Meenakshiamman temple is 2500 years old temple. It has 33000 sculptures in it. The temple has 14 gopurams and 4 gateways.Thirumalainayakkar Mahal – Built in 1636. The design and architecture is a blend of dravidan & rajasthan styles. Everyday evening you will see the Sound and Light show of Sillappathikaram.Thousand Pillar Hall – when we touch these Pillar it will produce music. Jallikattu is a 2500 years old Bull Catching festival.

 

Evening drop at airport /railway station.
