India is a country where one can find an amalgamation of different religions. These religions make the country’s culture more vibrant and diverse. One such religion spreading the message of peace is Sikhism. It is one of the youngest religions of the world and finds its roots in the Indian states like Punjab and Haryana. The shrines of Sikihism, Gurudwaras, display wonderful piece of architect and serenity.

 

This 13 nights and 14 days itinerary takes the tourists to some of the famous Takhts of Sikhism. The tour lets the traveler explore different regions with religious significance in Sikhism such as Chandigarh, Ropar, Fategarh, Anandpur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Goindwal, and Patna. In addition, the itinerary also includes visiting magnificent tourist destinations such as Varanasi, Agra and Delhi.

 

The religion preach us the Universal truth that there is only one God, and teaching universally acceptable ideals of compassion , humility , honesty , piety and social commitment towards society. Sikhism was founded in the 16th Century by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The succeeding nine Gurus nurtured, developed and preached his ideas and teachings.They taught the basic values of freedom, brotherhood, charity, obedience, understanding, sympathy, patience, humility, simplicity, and piety, and outlined the path to spirituality in life. The Gurus themselves said that they were human beings and were not to be worshipped as God. They considered themselves to be mere servants of God.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01 : In Delhi

 

After having breakfast by 10:30 A.M., we will start the tour of visiting Gurudwaras. At first we visit, the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib that is dedicated to The Eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan Sahibji. You can do seva at the Langar (Community Kitchen), Jora Ghar (Place To Keep Shoes) Or Jal Seva (Offering Holy Water To The Devotees). The Gurudwara is recognized by its golden dome. It was a bungalow of Raja Jai Singh, an Indian ruler in the 17th century. You can have Langar and can experience serenity by sitting at the pangat. We will also visit the historical monuments of India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhawan (President’s House). In evening, we will go to visit Gurudwara Moti Bagh For Rehraas Sahib Paath and afterwards have dinner at an Indian-theme restaurant. You will have an overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 02 : In Delhi

 

After breakfast, we will visit the Gurdwara Sees Ganj Sahib. We also visit the sacred well where Guru Teg Bahadur Ji took his last bath. Gurdwara Sees Ganj Sahib is situated in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi. You can still see the trunk of the tree under which the Guru was matyred. After Gurudwara, we will visit the Red Fort. After lunch, we will visit Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. After the visit, we will enjoy a dinner at the hotel. You can visit the exhibition and sale in the hotel which includes handicrafts, ethnic wears, accessories, dry fruits and other delicacies.

 

Day 03 : Delhi-Amritsar

 

Departure for Amritsar by Swarna Shatabdi Express (2029) at 7.20 Am

 

Arrival by 13.25 pm & transfer to the hotel

 

After Lunch, we will visit Jallianwala Bagh & Wagah Border

 

Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel

You will visit to Jallianwala Bagh, which is widely known for its notorious massacre under British rule. The place is converted into a beautiful garden having memorial plaque that recounts the history. A well on the north side and a large memorial built in the memory of the dead.

 

Wagah Border is the “Berlin Wall Of Asia” and a ceremonial border on India–Pakistan Border where each evening there commence a retreat ceremony named, ‘Lowering Of The Flags’

 

Day 04 : In Amritsar

 

On Day 4, you have to meet in the hotel lobby at 3:15 A.M. to proceed towards Hari Mandir Sahib. You can join the ritual of the golden palanquin carrying Guru Granth Sahib Ji to Harimandir Sahib. You will pay respects during your first Hukamnama & Ardaas (Prayer).

Sachkhand Sri Harimandir Sahib Kirtan Asa-Di-Var at 04-00 A.M.

 

Start Of Sri Palki Sahib (Gold-Palanquin) from Sri Akal Takhat Sahib at 05-00 A.M.

 

First Hukam-Nama at 05-30 A.M.

 

First Ardas at 06-00 A.M.

 

Ending Asa-Di-Var at 07-00 A.M.

 

Second Ardas And Hukam-Nama at 07-15 A.M.

 

You will pay respects at Akal Takht Sahib (The Oldest Of The Five Takhts)

 

Here, you can also visit the Sikh Museum that hosts old and ancient weapons of the Guru’s.

 

The Golden Temple-Gurudwara Hari Mandir Sahib

 

Guru Arjan Dev (The Fifth Guru) was the man having great ideas and vision. He resided in Amritsar and made it the headquarters of his mission.

 

Sri Akal Takht Sahib

 

The literal meaning of Akal Takht Sahib is eternal throne. This is also considered as a part of the Golden Temple Complex In Amritsar. It symbolizes the dispensing of justice and temporal activity.

 

We will return back to the hotel for breakfast and you can take rest till noon. Post lunch, we will drive to the historical Gurudwaras of Baba Buddha Ji & Chheharta Sahib. And, we will return back to the hotel by evening. You can visit the exhibition and sale section of the hotel for purchasing unique handicrafts or the famous phulkari wears/ shawls, tweeds & stoles/ ethnic accessories/ Punjabi delicacies, etc. We will have dinner at a local Punjabi restaurant in the evening.

 

Day 05 : Day Trip To Goindwal & Taran Taran Sahib

 

After having breakfast, we will leave for Gurudwara Goindwal Sahib. We will do the darshan of the Gurudwara till 11:00 and then leave for Tarn Taran Sahib. In lunch, we will have Langar in the Gurudwara and return back to hotel by evening.

Gurudwara Goindwal Sahib 

 

The famous and sacred spot at Goindwal is the Gurudwara Baoli Sahib.

 

Gurudwara Taran Taran Sahib

 

A holy tank was constructed by the Guru that is meant for devotional ablutions of the Sikhs. In beauty and splendor, the shrine of Taran Taran resembles the Golden Temple of Amritsar. The water of the tank is holy and is believed to posses properties for curing leprosy.

 

Day 06 : Amritsar-Bhatinda (225 Kms; 4hours)

 

After having breakfast, we will drive to Bathinda in deluxe buses. We check in to the hotel. And after having lunch, we will do the local sightseeing of Bathinda. The dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Bhatinda

 

Bathinda is located in southern Punjab. This is the city where Guru Gobind Singhji fought with the Mughals. Bathinda Fort or Qila Mubarak is the place where the empress Razia Sultana was imprisoned. It is also a place that is associated with Guru Gobind Singhji. Some of the places of interests are the three lakes near the thermal plants, Damdama Sahib, Zoological Park (6 Km), Maiser Khana Temple (29 Km), and the rose garden.

 

Day 07 : In Bhatinda

 

After having breakfast, we will visit the Takht Sri Damdama Sahib. And, the other Gurudwaras at this place are:

 

Gurudwara Manji Sahib Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur

 

Gurudwara Mata Sundari And Sahib Devan

 

Gurudwara Niwas Asthan Padshahi Dasvin

 

Gurudwara Manji Sahib Padshahi Nauvin And Dasvin

Takht Sri Damdama Sahib

 

At Damdama Sahib, there is one of the five takhts of the Sikhs. After fighting battles against the Mughal atrocities, Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed here.

 

Day 08 : Drive Bhatinda-Ropar/ Anandpur Sahib Via Patiala (220 Kms/5 Hrs)

 

After having breakfast, we will drive to Anandpur Sahib. We will check into the hotel/serai there

Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib Or Anandpur Sahib

 

It is considered as one of the most influential and important sacred places of the Sikhs that is closely related to the religious traditions and history. You can see some of the weapons of Guru Gobind Singh here.

 

Importance Of Sri Anandpur Sahib

 

Gurudwara Guru-Ka-Mahal (Bhora Sahib) was the residence of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur. The Holy Sons of the 10th Guru – The Sahibzadas- were born here.

 

Day 09 : In Anandpur Sahib

 

After having breakfast, we will visit to Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib and other Gurudwaras. We stay in a hotel or sarai for night.

Chandigarh

 

The place is located on the fringes of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas and it is the capital of both the states of Punjab and Haryana. The places of interest are Rock Garden containing a collection of 20,000 rock forms, The Sukhna Lake which is hilly and excellent option for outings in the forest.

 

Day 10 : Anandpur Sahib/ Ropar-Chandigarh-Delhi (360kms/8 Hrs)

 

We will drive early in the morning to Delhi via Chandigarh. We will do lunch en route in a typical Punjabi dhaba. We will check into the hotel and have dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11 : Fly Delhi-Patna (By Flight)

 

We will board the morning flight to Patna at 07:05 Am that reach the place by 08:20 Am. We will check into the hotel. After having lunch, we will do the sightseeing of major attractions in Patna.

Place To Visit:

 

Gol Ghar: It is a bee hove shaped granary that was built after the outbreak of a terrible famine in 1770. It is a very old British structure in the city and offers a serene view of the River Ganges and the city from the top.

 

Kumhrar: This place is known for its huge 80 pillared hall and, therefore known as an archaeologist’s delight.

 

Agam Kuan: This deep well dates back to the Ashokan Period and drives numerous visitors.

 

Patna Museum: This museum has an amazing collection of terracotta figures and bronze sculptures. It is also known as jadu ghar in local. The most precious object in here is the Didarganj Yakshi.
 

Day 12 : Visit Shri Patna Sahib-Overnight Train To Agra

 

After having breakfast, we will leave for the Darshan Of Takht Sri Patna Sahib. We will spend the day doing seva and visiting other Gurudwaras. We will board the train in evening at 15:45 for Tundla. We will have dinner in the train and stay overnight in the hotel after reaching the place.

Takht Sri Patna Sahib

 

Takht Sri Patna Sahib is the birthplace of The Tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The book containing the hukamnamas Of Guru Gobind Singh and Guru Tegh Bahadur is kept in this holy Gurudwara.

 

Day 13 : Arrive Tundla Railway Station-Transfer To Agra (40kms/ 1 Hrs)

 

We will reach the Tundla railway station at 06:53 and transfer to Agra. After reaching Agra, we check into the hotel. We will visit the Agra fort that is built using red stones and marbles and situated at a hilltop. In the evening, we will explore the monumental heritage of the great Mughals, which includes one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Taj Mahal. We will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 14 : Agra-Fatehpur Sikri-Jaipur (236kms/ 5hrs)

 

After having breakfast, we will drive from Agra to the Pink City, Jaipur. We will also visit the famous ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri en route. Here is one of the largest mosques of India, The Jama Masjid. We will drive further to Jaipur and check into the hotel after reaching there. We will have rest in the evening and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 15 : Full Day City Tour Of Jaipur

 

After having breakfast, we will visit the Hawa Mahal, The Palace of the Winds. After that, we will visit the dramatic hilltop fortress at Amber. You can enjoy an elephant ride like the Maharajah’s used to do. You can visit the Maharajah’s city palace which is now converted into museum. Later on, we will visit the unique Jantar Mantar Observatory. In evening, we will drive to visit the cultural evening in Chokhi Dhani. This village resort is 17 Kms away from Jaipur. We will have dinner there and return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 16 : Fly Jaipur-Hyderabad & Drive To Nanded (284 Kms/7hrs).

 

We will be transferred to the airport for boarding the flight for Hyderabad, i.e., 6E-151 Indigo at 06:00. We will arrive at Hyderabad airport at 07:40 and then we will drive to Nanded. We will have lunch en route and reach Nanded by evening. We will check into the Nanded hotel for overnight stay and will have dinner there.

 

Day 17 : Visit Takht Sri Huzoor Sahib

 

We will enjoy full day darshan Of Takht Sri Huzoor Sahib and other Gurudwaras. we will have dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib

 

This is the principal shrine that is located half a kilometer from the left bank of the river Godavari in Nanded. Here, the Guru had his camp in 1708 A.D.

 

Day 18 : Nanded-Hyderabad International Airport

 

After having breakfast, we will drive to Hyderabad from Nanded (8 Hours/275 Kms). After reaching Hyderabad, you will be transferred to the international airport.
