Mani Mahesh trek is one of the beautiful trek in Himachal. Mani Mahesh Yatra is also a holy place for Hindus. Manimahesh Lake Trek (also known as Dal Lake, Manimahesh) is a high altitude lake (elevation 4,080 meters (13,390 ft)) situated close to the Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, in the Bharmour subdivision of Chamba district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The religious significance of this lake is next to that of the Lake Manasarovar in Tibet. The lake is the venue of a highly revered pilgrimage trek undertaken during the month of August / September corresponding to the month of Bhadon according to Hindu calendar, on the eighth day of the New Moon period. It is known as the 'Manimahesh Yatra'.The Government of Himachal Pradesh has declared it as a state-level pilgrimage.

Best Time for Manimahesh Trek

There is a lot of snow till June which can make your Manimahesh Yatra and trek very uncomfortable and not very nice. The best time to go for the Manimahesh Yatra is the end of August when there is almost no snowfall and the weather is very clear with no bad weather conditions. September is also a good option as the daytime temperature is between 12 to 20°C. However, you must note that the nights in September can be cool and the temperature can drop below -5°C.

How to Reach Manimahesh Trek

The Manimahesh Trek is well connected to most of the important towns in Uttarakhand. The following guide provides details on how to reach the Manimahesh Trek by car, train or flight.

By Road: The most convenient way to reach Chamba from Delhi is to take a Volvo or HRTC bus directly from Kashmere Gate to Chamba. Night buses can take you directly to Chamba, from where you can board another bus or take a taxi to Bharmour.

By Air: The nearest airport to Manimahesh is the Gaggar Airport. It is 176 km from Barmur. To reach Barmur from Gaggar Airport, you can take a private taxi or public transport.

By Train: The nearest railway station to Manimahesh is the Pathankot Railway Station. There are direct trains between Delhi and Pathankot.

– No show and trek changes/cancellation due to bad weather or natural calamity will be non-refundable.
– In case an extra day is utilized, an additional amount would be charged, pay on the spot.
– Our team reserves the right to change the plan/itinerary in case there is danger involved.
– Any additional costs due to weather/unforeseen situations, cost of rescue will have to be borne by the climber/you.
– Carry your personal luggage on your own, if you don’t wish to carry it, you can give it to the porter, but you have to inform us in advance and have to pay extra on the basis of per day per bag.
– Extreme Himalayan Trips require a good amount of physical fitness, stamina and endurance so prepare accordingly.
– In case of bad health, sickness/illness, AMS the participant would be sent back and no refund would be provided. Participants have to bear all the return costs on the spot.

Itinerary

DAY 01:ARRIVE AMRITSAR ARIPOT - BHARMOR (DRIVE 265 KM 0 HRS.) (BHARMOR 2195M)

Arrive  airport Amritsar airport  at 0800 Hrs meet our representative and drive to Bharmour via Chamba. Evening free at leisure or visit 84 Chaurasi Temple is in the center of Bharmour and its hold immense religious importance because of temples built around 1400 years ago. This complex-Chaurasi, 84 Shrines built in the periphery of Chaurasi Temple. Chaurasi word is hindi word number called Eighty-Four. This Temple built in 7th century, there are big and small temples in Chaurasi complex. BHARMOR - BRAHMANI TEMPLE (06 KM TREK): - BHARMOR Brahmani Temple 6km trek and back to hotel. Brahmani Temple mainly known for Goddess Brahmani Mata, according to a local people they believe that the Bharmour was called Brahmpura after Brahmani Devi. When Lord Shiva went to Manimahesh Kailash granted a boon to goddess Brahmani Devi that all persons intending to go on pilgrimage to Manimahesh must have a dip in their holy pool. Failing this, their pilgrimage would not be acceptable to Lord Shiva. That is way every visitor firstly take bath in Brahmani's holy pool before Manimahesh Lake.

DAY 02: BHARMOR - HUDSAR (BY JEEP 13 KM) - DHANCHO (BY TREK 7KM) (2280M)

Today early morning after breakfast check-out from hotel and drive to Hudsar. Hudsar is last point for transportation, road ends here. Then start trek to Dhanchoo 7 km trek and reached Dhanchoo in the afternoon have lunch and evening free at leisure. Overnight stay in camps.

DAY 03: DANCHOO - MANI MAHESH LAKE - GAURI KUND (7 KM TREK): (4080M)

Today early morning after breakfast, packed your luggage and pick packed lunch and Trek to Manimahesh Lake 14500 feet. After having some food and spend some time absorbing the beauty of lake, Gauri Kund base camp reach at destination for overnight.

Manimahesh Lake (also known as Dal Lake, Manimahesh) is a high altitude lake (elevation 4,080 meters (13,390 ft)) situated close to the Manimahesh Kailash Peak.

Overnight at GAURI KUND

Meals: Breakfast + Packed Lunch + Dinner

DAY 04: MANIMAHESH LAKE/GAURI KUND - BHARMOR :

Today early morning after breakfast and take packed lunch and Trek down to Hudsar 14 km trek and from Hudsar drive back to Bharmour and arrival at Bharmour hotel.

Overnight at Bharmour.

Meals: Breakfast + Packed Lunch + Dinner

DAY 05: Bharmour -  Chamba Khajjiar a -Amritsar airport drop

Today after relaxed breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive back to Pathankot railway station to board the late evening  Tour End
