Itinerary

Day 01: Guwahati – Shillong
Today arrive at Guwahati airport, visit Kamakhya temple, Umananda Temple and then drive to Shillong (130kms / 3 hrs drive), enroute stop at the scenic view point of the Umiam Lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India), reach Shillong and check into hotel. Overnight stay will be in Shillong.
Day 02: Shillong

Today after breakfast visit Shillong Peak, Cathedral, Ward’s Lake, Lady Hydari Park, Don Bosco Museum, later explore Police Bazar, evening at leisure. Overnight stay will be in Shillong.
Day 03: Shillong – Cherrapunjee

Today after breakfast we set to explore Shillong and Cherrapunjee (56 kms / 02 hrs drive), we will visit the Elephant falls, and the drive further to Cherrapunjee, and at Cherrapunjee we visit Mawdok Valley View Point, Seven Sister Falls, The Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest falls in the world), Mawsmai Cave, Dainthlen Falls and Krem Falls. After exploring for the day check into hotel and relax, evening at leisure and overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.
Note: In Winters Water Will Be Lesser In Falls Compare To Monsoon Season.

Day 04: Cherrapunjee – Mawllynnong – Shillong

Today after breakfast we drive to Mawllynnong (110 kms / 03 hrs drive), explore the village and also trek for 10 min to visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village, also visit The Dawki (Indo – Bangla Border) later go for a boat ride in Umngot River (the crystal clear river), after day long excursion back to Shillong and overnight stay.
Day 05: Shillong – Guwahati – Fly

Today drive to Guwahati airport for onward destination.
(Sightseeing can be done depending on flight timing and interest).

Ans: A minimum of 7 days is required to visit two or three famous tourist destinations. Any state outside the Northeast, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland or Mizoram can get the permit. Major airports in the Northeast, such as Guwahati International Airport, can issue the permit. The Arunachal Pradesh government also provides the facility to apply for an Inner Line Permit online. Foreigners require a different type of permit, the Protected Area Permit (PAP). By Flight

There are several cities in India that offer direct flights to Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, and Tripura. Guwahati, the only metropolitan city in the Northeast, is the gateway to other states in the Northeast. Guwahati offers direct and domestic flights from various cities in India. From Guwahati, you can catch flights to Dimapur, Silchar, Aizawl, Agartala, Tezpur, Jorhat, and Dibrugarh. Not all states have functioning airports; therefore, the only mode of transportation once you reach a destination is by road. There are also helicopter flights to Aizwal and Naharlagun.

By Car

Most people prefer to reach Northeast India by road and experience the amazing landscapes.

By Bus

Buses from the Northeast run to Guwahati from West Bengal. You can get off in Guwahati and take ASTC buses from Paltan Bazar to other states in Northeast India.
